Last spring, four public libraries on the South Shore of Massachusetts collaborated to reach out to commuter rail riders through a community reading project called All Aboard Greenbush!: One Train, One Book. Working with the support of the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Agency (MBTA), librarians distributed books and signed people up for library cards at seven commuter stations and provided six weeks worth of programming including onboard book discussion groups, STEM programs, lectures, trivia nights, and a finale event with the author at South Station in Boston. Learn about this collaborative project that brought the library to commuters. We will also be sharing lessons that we learned during this project. All Aboard Greenbush was paid for with federal funds provided by the Institute of Museum and Library Services and administered by the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners.
