Traci Griffith


Traci Griffith came to St. Michael's College from Chicago, where she was a correspondent with the Associated Press. She began her teaching career as a visiting professor in September 2001 and joined the tenure track faculty one year later. She is now a tenured associate professor and chairperson of the Media Studies, Journalism and Digital Arts Department. She worked as a national editor for The Associated Press broadcast division of Washington, D.C. and is a 1999 graduate of Notre Dame Law School. Utilizing her law degree and her years as a professional journalist, Griffith's teaching focuses on Media Law and Ethics and Investigative Reporting. She also created a seminar course on Race, Gender and Ethnicity in Media. Professor Griffith currently serves on the national board of the American Civil Liberties Union, and the Vermont chapter of the ACLU. She is a United Way board member and is actively involved in community affairs.
